FLANNEL X SKINOLOGIE SILK FACE MASKS
FLANNEL has collaborated with Dr Ceylan Yilmaz from Skinologie to develop a reversible, washable silk mask that is kind to your skin.
Being a natural fibre, silk is breathable and less likely to trap humidity, reducing the risk of skin inflammation under the masked area - now being recognised as “Maskne”. Silk fibres are naturally antimicrobial, antiviral and antibacterial.
Dr Yilmaz recommends choosing a mask that fits well around the nose and sides but not too tight on the face, and has at least 3 layers of lightweight, high thread count (dense) material. The three layers increase filtering efficiency, making the mask more protective.
Our silk masks are consciously crafted from our premium, clothing-grade washed-silk offcuts, reducing fabric wastage. They have silk inner and outer layers and a third layer of cotton mesh in between. A mouldable, moisture-resistant PE wire contours the nose.
Silk masks are easily washable, retaining their hydrophobicity and antimicrobial properties through repeated washing. Wash daily when you shower using shampoo; silk is a protein fibre just like your hair.
