Since our founding in 2006, we’ve chosen to work only with boutique product houses – often family-run, always deeply skilled – across Italy, India, Indonesia, China, Portugal, and the USA. These are places where craft is generational, where hands still guide every thread and button. Many of our partnerships began over a coffee, a long-distance call, or a mutual connection that became friendship. Most have been with us since the early days. They’re not just collaborators; they’re part of our extended family. They, too, share the core values that define FLANNEL: mindfulness, craftsmanship, innovation, and a genuine sense of community.

Each piece is brought to life by skilled artisans – the very best in their field – who honour and preserve textile traditions passed down through generations. Our goal is to support these artisanal families and communities, helping to sustain their craft and the wealth of knowledge they cherish, while fostering economic independence and stability. 

We work with specialised production houses, each dedicated to particular techniques and fabrications. Whether it’s the delicate hand embroidery of India, the luxurious silks and cashmere of China, the limited edition prints of Indonesia, considered Supima Cotton of the USA or the refined accessories of Italy and Portugal, every house excels in what they do best. This focused expertise ensures every FLANNEL piece is made with precision, care, and artistry. 

Our partnerships go beyond production; they are built on respect and responsibility. We employ adults who receive a living wage at or above their country’s award standards. Our artisans work in bright, clean, and safe environments – places they choose to come to each day.
