Behind the Scenes: The Making of our Spring Campaign

Effortless, intimate, vintage, cool, feminine. These words move through everything we do at FLANNEL, and forming the essence of our Spring 2026 campaign was no exception.

Autumn always arrives quietly. Light softens. Movement slows. The season shaped is by subtle moodiness and a kind of beauty that feels instinctive rather than performative.

Spring 2026 was created in this space. It strikes the perfect balance of undone yet still considered.

Catch a glimpse behind-the-scenes of our Spring 2026 campaign shoot: Chapter I. Our shoot days are always thought-out and designed to hold the same feeling as the clothing itself. As always, every decision, from location to light, was guided by our Creative Director Kristy's intuition, allowing the collection to be captured honestly and with the familiar FLANNEL penmanship our community knows and loves.

The Space

We found our setting in a close friend’s home in Nedlands, once belonging to an artist, and left almost entirely untouched. Nothing felt overly styled in the space, or begged for attention. This helped decide the brief: capture the effortless femininity and elegance of the collection in an empty room, where time itself seems to have stood still.

Kristy and Liv, FLANNEL's Brand & Digital Lead, visited the space the day before, allowing the home itself to guide where moments would be captured. It was a perfect backdrop that allowed the clothing to come to life; grounded, and intimate.

The Looks

When choosing the looks for the campaign, Kristy always leads with a similar approach: loose silhouettes, simple layers, showing how the pieces fall on the body and move with ease.

We wanted the garments to feel worn in, not overly styled. Refined, yet gently undone.

GK Jewellery, Made by Instinct

The day before the shoot, Kristy worked closely with FLANNEL's exclusive jewellery designer and her close friend Gabbi Kelly, curating two limited-edition necklaces to go back with the Spring collection. These GK necklaces were styled instinctively alongside each FLANNEL piece, adding a pop of colour to our simple silhouettes. Available in limited quantities, these necklaces are available online now.

A Shared Rhythm

There is a particular kind of magic in working with people who understand your language without words. This shoot brought together a familiar team. Andrew behind the lens, Francesca shaping hair and makeup, Indira capturing film, and Chantal who instinctively embodied the collection, wearing it as if it were her own.

A shared rhythm that allowed space for moments to unfold rather than be directed or overly controlled & styled allowed for moments of spontaneous creativity.

Letting the Moment Breathe

Beyond the garments, we wanted to capture a sensation. Stillness without posing and close details and feel almost accidental.

Alongside considered product imagery, we made a conscious decision to chase a feeling with this campaign, creating images and film that don't overly explain themselves but rather stay with you.

Spring 2026 is a collection made to be lived in, held close, worn often, and felt deeply. We hope you find pieces that become part of your story.
